FOR LOVE – 2020/21
For the 126,000 souls, whose lives have been sadly taken,
For their families left behind and badly shaken,
For affected communities to stand together – side by side,
And for unity to be the answer, and not divide.
For the poor and homeless to be taken into consideration,
For the vulnerable to be looked after across the nation,
For our national health to be appreciated and not neglected,
And for struggling businesses that covid has affected.
So please – for loving kindness to each other, let there be,
And for coronavirus to shift priorities and help us see
That mass changes to our lifestyles are overdue,
And its togetherness in different forms that will get us through.
For loving compassion to overpower what greed commands,
For politicians and world leaders to join hands,
For life’s natural beauty to be adored above material things,
And for every being to flourish and find their wings.
For evil and corruption to be replaced by all that’s good,
For mental illness in all its forms to be understood,
For the disabled and disadvantaged to be respected,
And for our dying lands and species nurtured and protected.
So please – for loving kindness to each other, let there be,
And for coronavirus to shift priorities and help us see
That mass changes to our lifestyles are overdue,
